The weekly newsletter will be sent home via-email. An online version of the newsletter is posted at www.sjvsj.org. The communication envelope from the school ordinarily will be sent home every Wednesday. The youngest St. John Vianney student in the family will be responsible for the delivery of the envelope. A parent/guardian must sign the envelope next to the appropriate date. If time has been volunteered in the school/parish, it is important that the hours be recorded, on the following Wednesday immediately after the service is given, in the column marked “Specific Service Activity” or “credit” will not be given. Please note type of service, date and approximate time spent. Envelopes should be returned to the classroom teacher on Thursday.
Please Note: All service hours contributed during the summer prior to the beginning of school should be recorded on the back side of the communication envelope. Fiesta hours must be recorded in May with the exception of new (current year) families who may record their Fiesta hours in August.
All communication envelopes must be returned by the last day of school.
Each homeroom teacher will e-mail a newsletter at least twice a month. Parents/guardians and teachers are encouraged to keep open lines of communication. The preferred method is a face-to-face conference; however, an appointment may be set up using e-mail. If contacting by phone, call the general voice mail, 258-7677, then press #6, plus the first three letters of the last name called to leave a voice mail message. For e-mail addresses, click here.
Please leave a message with a phone number and times when the teacher can return a call. Teachers will attempt to return voice and email messages within 24 hours. Appointments with teachers should be scheduled for time before or after school. No parent or visitor should disrupt the teachers during class for a personal conference. Teachers are responsible to supervise the children.
