Mission:
The SJV Development Committee seeks to build our community into a place alumni can call home, increase the public image of the school, raise capital funds, and assist in student and staff recruitment.
Goals:
To increase awareness of the St. John Vianney Sister Joan Marie Scholarship Fund and assist in raising capital funds for improvements to the school facility
To increase awareness of the Alumni Association
Objectives:
Develop a Development Committee/Board
Develop an Annual Campaign
Research & implement Matching Gifts Campaign
Develop a SJV School Newsletter Committee
Maintain school data bases, Grandparent/VIP Database, Alumni Database
Build Donors/Sponsors Database
Coordinate collection of donor/sponsor names, gifts given, date of donations, etc. from all school committees and administrators
Build past Faculty & Priests Database
Coordinate appreciation events for Grandparents, Parents, Alumni, and Donors
Submit Press Releases to local neighborhood newspapers and the Valley Catholic
Invite alumni back to SJV for a class reunion before going to college
Admission of graduates to the SJV Alumni Association with presentation of Certificates and Alumni T-Shirts

To establish an active, energetic committee of faithful members
To identify short term improvements to the existing school infrastructure

FINANCE

Mission:
The SJV School finance committee shall act in a financial advisory capacity to the school administration for the support of short and long term goals and plans. Additionally, the Finance Committee shall review financial practices and procedures with the administration and all committees.
Goals:
School Database: Find or create a comprehensive tool or database for any and all accounting or tracking activities (i.e. tuition, family hours, extended care, attendance, family reporting, fundraising, etc.).
Credit Card Machine Plan: Research and investigate cost alternatives and determine long-term plan and uses for a credit card machine at SJVS.
Cash Control and Reporting: Review and evaluate cash control processes at SJVSand set up a consistent reporting process for fundraisers. Recommend any changes to SJVS administration.Multi-Year Budget and Forecast: Review the budget process and develop a forecast model to help project needs and goals for the current year + 3-yr, 5-yr and 10-yr projections.
SJVS Scholarship Fund: Review current position of the SJVS scholarship fund and develop time-line to increase the fund by a determined amount in 5- and 10- years.
Tuition Plan Alternatives: Evaluate SJVS tuition structure against other local private schools and make recommendations to SJVS administration based on analysis
Financial Reporting Enhancement: Review, evaluate and recommend improvement areas and enhancements to the current financial reports and budgets currently in use.
FUNDRAISING

Mission:
To develop a fundraising program so the school will meet its operating budget and families will meet their fundraising commitment.
Responsibilities:
Attend monthly meetings
Create fundraising calendar for the school year
Support all fundraising events
Recruit Chairpersons for events if needed
Goals:
Exceed budget set by the Finance Committee
Open communication between fundraising committee, event chairpersons and finance committee
Update SJV Families on Fundraising Progress
Recruitment
Objectives:
Promote Scrip, E-Scrip, School Pop, Gift wrap Sale, Candy Sale, Magazines & all other Social Fundraisers to the fullest
Create an effective fundraising calendar for the school year, as well as, keeping families interested
Meet with all fundraising chairs 2 times a year
Forward minutes to chairpersons
Update a Chairperson Guideline Folder and Obtain Budget numbers from Finance
Publish Fundraising Updates in Communication Envelope
Update “New Family” Fundraising Packet
Distribute Packet at New Family Orientation
Update Website
Recruit through the volunteer sheets
Advertise in communication envelope
HEALTH & SAFETY

Goals:
Develop and implement safety plan for new parking lot
Investigate signage to assist traffic routines
Ask for periodic traffic control by police at drop-off and pick-up times.
Increase committee membership
Increase awareness of Health and Safety Committee, and promote ties between committee members and volunteers
Keep contact information for Health and Safety Committee current on the website
Post monthly meeting agenda and minutes to the web site
Publish health and/or safety information for families in weekly communication letter
Work with school (staff) safety officer(s) to ensure safe practices for emergency drills: fire, earthquake and disaster
Keep aware of current information about proper procedures for emergencies
Check first-aid supplies and classroom first aid bags. Check and/or replace contents annually
Check Emergency Shed to make sure supplies are adequate, in tact and not outdated
PARENT SUPPORT GROUP (PSG)

SCHOOL ADVISORY COMMITTEE (SAC)

Mission: The SAC views Catholic education as a ministry within the Church and therefore, takes these ideals into consideration with each decision and recommendation it makes. The SAC serves the administration, faculty, parents and students of St. John Vianney School. The SAC’s purpose is to:
Assist with the review, development and communication of school policies
Assist with short and long range planning
Act as a liaison within existing school committees
Provide a link between SJV school and parish communities
Goals:
Ensure that the school mission statement, student learning expectations, and policies are kept as the focus in all decision making
Develop long-range plans for identified critical resources (qualified applicants, respected and service oriented student body, engaged and motivated faculty and staff, quality physical plant, committed and involved parents), which are essential to the successful operation of the school
Support the long-term operational effectiveness of the school in achieving its stated mission
Objectives:
In collaboration with appropriate committees, review school policies, handbook, budget allocations, tuition criteria, and volunteer program and make recommendations to the administration
Review current Volunteer program at SJV and research best practices for volunteerism. Recommend improvements to attract, align and deploy volunteers more effectively at SJV
Work with the administration to improve the Athletics and After-school sports program with a focus on policy, leadership, school uniforms and equipment and overall communication
Improve the effectiveness of SJV School committees using liaison role and SJV School Committee Operations Guide
Work with the faculty, staff, and technology committee to operationalize the SJV Parent Survey. Focus will be on targeted actions to improve the school as a result of the survey
Continue progress on academic performance metrics to measure and communicate progress in critical academic areas
TECHNOLOGY

Goals:
To assist the Technology Coordinator in making recommendations to the school administration relative to the purchase of new personal computers, peripherals, and networking infrastructure
To assist in the installation, maintenance and upgrade of computers, peripherals and networking equipment
To assist in the teaching of staff at St. John Vianney School in furthering the use of technology in the classroom
To assist the administrative staff at St. John Vianney School in furthering the use of technology in the office
To support the school in keeping pace with the rapid advancements in technology

Mission:
The Yearbook Committee is responsible for creating and publishing the SJV Yearbook each year.This includes generating the photos, graphics, collages and page layouts for the yearbook. If you have an interest in graphic arts or photography, and would be willing to contribute to next year's yearbook, please contact the chairperson for further information.
