As Santa Clara County has moved to the orange tier for public safety, we will be re-opening our classroom for students in-person school with limited space. Our teachers have been working diligently on creating a learning environment in their classroom that's engaging and safe for all students. While we are slowly re-opening our classrooms, our teachers will also be teaching concurrently our students who will remain at home through distance learning.
Starting on Monday, October 19th, we will be welcoming back our TK - 2nd Grade students. With each week, we'll gradually welcome back students in 2 grade levels at a time for a safer transition.
We will be doing concurrent teaching at this time. Concurrent teaching is different than hybrid teaching. In hybrid teaching classes are split – some come in the morning and some in the afternoon OR some come on Monday and Thursday and the others come on Tuesday and Friday. Wednesdays will be Distance Learning for everyone so that teachers could check in with students in small groups, especially those at home, to ensure that all students are learning.
Concurrent teaching can be via live-stream, where the teacher live streams what he/she is doing with the students in class with those at home – OR— virtually where those in class are still on Zoom with their classmates as the teacher is teaching to the camera. We will use a combination of live-stream and virtual depending on the grade and subject.
